The return of the dark sitcom. When is season 2 of Ricky Gervais series After Life released?


Ricky Gervais’ brutally honest comedy After Life is coming back to Netflix for a second series. Netflix announced the news of a second season with a Twitter post captioned with a quote from Ricky Gervais. There is no trailer yet, but a compilation of outtakes from series one to get you in the mood. After Life is a British dark comedy T.V Series on Netflix, the show has Ricky Gervais as its writer, director, and producer besides having him in the lead role.

It premiered in March of 2019 and was instantly met with positive reviews. The six episodes of season one each received positive reviews. Netflix was quick to cash in and announced the show to be renewed for the second season in April of 2019. As the matter stands now, April 24 of 2020 is the official release date for the second season. Considering there has been no further announcement following the corona pandemic, the date of release stands firm.

Like the first season, season two is going to be six episodes long. There’s been no confirmation on who is returning, leaving, or being added into the After Life Season 2 cast. Tony is doing what he wants and punishing the world, but he is going to punish people who deserve it. He is going to use his superpower for good said by Gervais in an interview. Touching on his character Tony calling his penchant for putting people in their place his “superpower.”

We should expect there to still be plenty of awkward encounters between Tony and anyone who gets in his way. Hopefully, After Life Season 2 also deals with Tony settling into his new normal as a widower, potentially offering new chances to rekindle workplace friendships and maybe find love again. Let’s wait for the trailer of this British black comedy-drama.
