The game Monster Hunter is going to be a live-action movie by Sony Pictures after its game has been successful for so many years, first announced back in 2018. The first movie posters have been unveiled, and they offer slight glimpses of just how epic we can expect the film to be: Milla Jovovich is dwarfed by a giant sword she slings over her shoulders. With Paul W.S. Anderson as director, the upcoming movie will follow the story of the main protagonist Lieutenant Artemis, played by Milla Jovovich, being transported to another a world full of dangerous monsters.
Artemis and her gathering, in the end, run over and works of art close by The Hunter (Jaa), a secretive warrior having one of a kind aptitudes that have permitted him to endure this antagonistic scene for quite a while. The movie is scheduled to be released this September 4, 2020. The sword is already prominent therein official movie photo posted.
The website also highlights how Jaa’s “Hunter” character must team up with Jovovich to prevent the monsters from reaching the said portal. Moreover, we also know that production companies like Screen Gems, Impact Pictures, Constantin Film, Tencent Pictures, and Toho will help out too. Lastly, this new movie based on the colorful and bombastic world of Monster Hunter will be another video game adaptation under Anderson’s belt — from his first being 1995’s Mortal Kombat to everything in between leading up to 2016’s Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.
His movies aren’t exactly faithful to the original games either, so it wouldn’t come as a surprise if this movie also followed others. While they were never popular with critics, but these directors had a loyal fanbase who enjoyed their blend of stylized monster fight scenes and weird mythological fun. One imagines the Monster Hunter movie will deliver more or less the same thing and could potentially kick off another franchise for the pair in the process when it arrives at the tail-end of summer.
