What happened at the end of Season 3 of Money Heist?
The third season of Money Heist had started with Tokyo and Rio relaxing in paradise together. However, after Rio got captured, Tokyo played an instrumental role in bringing back the gang together in order to rescue Rio. In the penultimate episode of the season, it was seen that the police had traded Rio for some other hostages in the stand-off at the Bank of Spain. But unfortunately, later, Rio breaks up with Tokyo. She is then seen in the finale drowning her sorrows.
Is Berlin Dead?
In the third season, we see The Professor going to meet his half-brother Andrés aka Berlin in Florence, Italy. However, previously in the second season of the series, we had seen Berlin (played by Pedro Alonso) sacrifice himself by staying back. At the same time, the other members escaped the Spanish Mint through the tunnel, which they had been digging. Since he sacrificed himself, the police had caught him and shot him multiple times on the chest. Surely that must have killed him? How can he still be alive?
However, there are still a few theories as to how this might be possible. First and foremost, it can be possible that he was wearing a bulletproof vest, which ultimately saved him from dying. Other theory includes how the Spanish authority would have wanted him to remain alive in order to get information about the others. While another theory (posted by a Reddit user) states that Berlin might have slipped into a coma from which he would have woken up maybe in a year. After that, he might even find that he has been cured of the degenerative disease he had for which he used to take Retroxil. The theory also hints that Spanish Intelligence might have struck a deal with Berlin, where Berlin either was on their side or received his independence with surveillance.
However, there are many fans too who don’t want Berlin to make a comeback. One of them commented on a Reddit thread: “As much as I love Berlin, I hope he’s dead. If he isn’t, that means his sacrifice was for nothing as his a free man after a period of time.”
